Conquest Sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • ½ cup ground beef
  • 4 thick-cut slices of bread
  • 2 slices of sharp cheddar
  • 2 tbsp bacon bits (or chopped cooked bacon)

Instructions
 

  • In a frying pan, heat the olive oil then add the onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. Cook until translucent. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • In a separate pan, cook the ground beef until it’s fully cooked. 
  • Butter four thick-cut slices of bread and place on a griddle or a large frying pan.
  • Add a slice of sharp cheddar to each sandwich and let it melt.
  • Add the cooked ground beef to the vegetable mixture and add the bacon bits.
  • Put approximately 2 tablespoons of mixture on each sandwich and top with the other slice of bread and grill until it’s golden brown. 
  • Serve with your favourite side and enjoy!
